K O N F U Z I U S

The aim of my workshops is that people – children and adults –  become aware and discover the potential of their own handwriting. In addition I want to introduce historical styles and get into a intensive but joyful practice. D A T E S

2019 · Malsalon
Impressions from a Christmas workshop

The Humanist Italic and its basic elements are perfect suitable for calligraphic ornaments. That’s the way you will enjoy your exercising and at the same time you already create calligraphic objects.

September 2019 · Weinmeisterhaus
Workshop together with the Literaturfestival Berlin (in cooperation with Pura Kauf)

In this multi-day workshop we worked on base of the youth novel »Die Königinnen der Würstchen« with the topic BEAUTY and negative developments in social media. The young people created their own slogans surrounding that topic and cutted it into individual  stencils which were used for printing on textile bags.

September 2018 · Weinmeisterhaus
Workshop together with the Literaturfestival Berlin (in cooperation with Pura Kauf)

In this multi-day workshop we worked on base of the book »Der Lügenbaum«. It was a very experimental approach.

Januar 2017 · Gelbe Villa (Berlin-Kreuzberg) · Children from 9 to 11 years (Ferienpass-Aktion)
“We design our own Leporello”

As a source of inspiration we use a poem by Mascha Kaléko about winter. By using different shaped tools (balsa wood and pencil) we create scriptural traces with interesting gaps and forms over handwritten passages. Afterwards a cute stripe is chosen which is folded into a little book. Some children wrote lines or single words into it or used stamps.

“We design our own Leporello”

As a source of inspiration we use a poem cycle by Mascha Kaleko. By using different shaped tools (balsa wood and pencil) we create scriptural traces with interesting gaps and forms over handwritten passages. Afterwards a cute stripe is chosen which is folded into a leporello. A folded envelope holds it together.

Summer 2016 · Gelbe Villa (Berlin-Kreuzberg) · Children from 9 to 11 years
“Playing with letters”

The focus is on experimenting with different tools to create freely designed sheets. First we make our own pen out of a metal can (called Cola-Pen). A piece of metal is folded and fixed onto a holder. It allows you to work on the top or width side of the tool. In addition I will teach you the basics of Grotesque writing, in which we use an equal spring. For inspiration we use favourite texts or poems. At the end your results will be bound to a book with Japanese binding.
